Fine-grade vermiculite is a lightweight and porous mineral that is commonly used in horticultural, industrial and agricultural applications. It is derived by heating natural vermiculite to a high temperature causing it to expand into a lightweight, spongy material. It has a particle side of 0.3-1mm, making it an excellent choice for use in seed starting and propagation, as it provides excellent aeration, drainage and moisture retention.
It is used in a variety of horticultural and agricultural applications. Most commonly for seed starting and propagation to create a well-balanced potting mix that aids healthy seed germination and root growth. It can also be used as a soil amendment to improve soil structure, increase water retention and provide aeration for better plant growth. Additionally it can be used in hydroponic gardening, where it helps to maintain a stable growing environment for plants. Due to its excellent thermal insulation properties, fine grade vermiculite is widely used as an insulating material. Its lightweight composition and high insulation value make it an ideal choice for various insulation applications. It is a highly versatile material.
