Richard Knight – our commercial director
I joined Palabora Europe (formerly Mandoval Ltd) in 1997, a subsidiary of Palabora Mining Company previously owned by Rio Tinto. Despite being smaller, our values and ethics come from our connection to the larger mining company.
Initially in planning, I took on more responsibility and became the Commercial Director in 2008. Palabora is now a highly efficient supply chain model, delivering vermiculite globally through strategic stock points in Durban and Antwerp.
Customer satisfaction is our priority, and we strive to maintain our position as a leading vermiculite brand. We have a promising future, extending our mining operations and nurturing long-standing customer relationships.
I serve on the board of the Vermiculite Association, advocating for our mineral and promoting knowledge. As one of the major players in the market, we provide excellent vermiculite sales and distribution.
In my free time, I enjoy golfing at Hindhead GC in Surrey, which I consider the finest course. I’d be delighted to accompany you for a round if you’re in the area.
